The cane is the most famous implement of classic corporal punishment .
Particularly in Old England it performed loyally, servicing the bottoms of naughty children. But even today, canes are still used in some countries in Asia and Africa as officially approved tools of justice .
Our canes are available in different strength and length:
The thinner they are, the sharper is the pain, produced by their high elasticity. Thicker canes cause a duller pain. Theiy should be used with care and attention, as their impact goes deep and can cause severe insuries. Thick canes leave behind deep bruises in contrast to the more shallow welts produced by the thinner ones. The difference between peeled and unpeeld canes is the level of elasticity. Peeled canes are more flexible and therfore have a more severe effect than unpeeled ones.
Our canes are made from Manila canes, not to be confused with bamboo sticks, which tend to break and splinter. The Manila cane is a natural product ,which grows evenly.Of course we reject canes which are too buckled or bent, but a slight curve and unevenness is typical for these canes.
To increase the elasticity and breaking strength, the canes can be rinsed with water before first use and occasionally thereafter.
