This armbinder can be applied in a number of ways. The metal bar effectively prevents the bending of the arms, so they stay rigid and must be kept straight. The arms can be secured in front as well as behind the body in this version. If the D-Ring is not used for securing the arms, but turned over and fixed onto the wrist straps, a forced posture of the hand as fist is achieved. With stretched out hands the binder can also be used to secure the arms upwards. Used like this, attention needs to be paid to the wrist straps being pulled tight to avoid the hands slipping out. The metal bars can be removed for another variant. Then the cuffs function as a restraint with bent arms, similar to a straight jacket.
