Although the jockey whip originates in equestrian sport, it can be used in a notably different way to a crop, thanks to the design of the swat. Two layers of flexible cowhide form a double swat, which can swing freely at a length of 8 centimetres.
If the swat is oscillated rapidly by swinging the fairly rigid cane, the tip achieves it's very own painful effect when striking sensitive areas like inner thighs and nipples in staccato.
