Until the middle of the last century the corporal punishment of insubordinate prisoners was commonplace in the prisons of North America. The standard implement for this was a prison strap, which was available in many different designs. Our Canadian prison strap corresponds with an original from the Canadian province Ontario. It is made from thick, very ridgid leather, which allows an exact dosage from playfully slapping to strict and punishing. The edges are carefully tapered und the back is elegantly covered in Nappa leather. The handle is re-enforced with a slightly flexible inlay. In the production of the Canadian prison strap we use our heavy English saddle leather (please see additional description below) in black, and Nappa leather for the back.
