What does German criminal law say about BDSM? Is BDSM legal in Germany? When can BDSM practices be legally permissible, and where are the limits?
This 60-minute talk provides an introduction to the German legal framework surrounding BDSM, with a particular focus on German criminal law. We will look at different BDSM practices, consent and its legal limits, documentation, and what to do when something goes wrong.
The talk is specifically about German law and is aimed at an international audience who want to understand how BDSM is treated under the German legal system.
What should be discussed before a scene, and what can or should be documented? How does German criminal law deal with practices such as hitting or choking? What role do consent, meta-consent and CNC play? What happens when an act takes place without consent? And what should you do if you are accused of a criminal offense following a BDSM session?

About the Speaker
The talk is presented by a fully qualified German lawyer who has been working as an attorney and criminal defense lawyer in Berlin for many years. He advises BDSM and sex-work projects throughout Germany and regularly deals with legal questions relating to BDSM practices. As a criminal defense lawyer, he has also represented clients in criminal investigations following BDSM sessions.
Kater181 has been active in the BDSM community for many years and is involved in organizing events within the Berlin scene.

The Stepless Tensioner is a really useful solution for making things increasingly uncomfortable during bondage play.Essentially, It is a leather strap connecting two objects (like a wrist cuff and the strut of a bed), which can then be tightened as desired without the need for any further clasp or mechanism.Fix the strap between two objects using the screw-connector and pull the loose end to shorten! If desired, the triangular screw connectors can be secured via a suitable wrench, preventing idle fingers to get busy opening things they are not supposed to.
