Specula

The Spreader Sims-style is a cunning alternative to most other specula. It does not have an adjusting screw, but possesses a ratchet to lock it in place. Even the sound of the ratchet causes a special psychological effect with every little adjustment. With a light squeeze of the locking lever the expansion can be released simply and quickly. The Spreader Sims-style can be used vaginally as well as anally. The blades have a slight duckbill design like a vaginal speculum, but - with a width of only 22 millimetres - they are quite slender and well rounded, too. They can therefore also very easily be inserted anally. The spreading of the blades is parallel, so that the orifice is splayed equally at the point of entry and inside the body. With a length of approx. 7 centimetres, the blades are quite short, the maximum opening is 48 millimetres. This makes the Sims Spreader particularly suitable for stretching of a tight vagina, especially of a Neo-Vagina (!), as well as the pre-stretching of the anus before the use of anal plugs. The Anal Speculum Matthieu-style offers a special alternative function: the anus is not only spread open in one direction, but is expanded at three points simultaneously, which provides a good view deep into the orifice. In the closed position, the three meticulously rounded blades form an almost circular shaft. With a diameter of only 17 to 18 millimetres approx., it is easily inserted into the anus. When the plier-shaped handle is drawn apart, the blades stretch the anus in three directions. This creates an opening in the shape of a triangle instead of a slit. The further the blades are now splayed apart, the larger the visible area inside the anus becomes. The maximum stretch is approx. 55 millimetres. The Anal Speculum Pratt-style is a very classic model produced in a particularly heavy design. This sturdy instrument does not tolerate resistance and persistently demands entry to the posterior opening. The rounded blades can easily be inserted into the anus due to their width of approx. 26 millimetres. The parallel spreading with the plier-shaped handle can be aligned in any position with an adjusting screw. The maximal opening is approx. 64 millimetres. The Anal Speculum Pratt is made from non-magnetic stainless steel and the entire surface is brushed to a semi-matt finish. Length of blades approx. 7.5 centimetres Weight approx. 460 grams!

The Vaginal Speculum 'Trelat' distinguishes itself from our range of specula by it's solid workmanship. It is especially popular with enthusiasts of robust, but simultaneously delicate engineering with the corresponding aesthetics. The very elaborate construction allows for the opening of the vagina on two levels. The blades can be opened on a runner to approx. 55 millimetres with the upper cog wheel. An extreme stretch of up to 15 centimetres can be achieved with the lower adjustment screw. But handle with caution: the severe power of the speculum hardly permits any resistance, please apply with care and don’t over-stretch the body! The insides of the blades are slightly dulled, so no disturbing light reflection is perceived when illuminating the vagina. The Vaginal Speculum Cusco-style is the standard version for a quick vaginal examination. Both of the blades, in duckbill design, can be spread wide apart and be held in a fixed position with an adjusting screw. The insides of the blades are slightly dulled, so no disturbing light reflection is perceived when illuminating the vagina. The Vaginal Speculum 'Grave Gold' answers to the demand for higher comfort and aesthetic as well as offering a 'second level' in its function. In addition to the standard spreading action of the tip, the lower blade can be moved as a whole. For this purpose, a second locating screw is loosened at the lower arm of the speculum. If the blade is now pulled downwards, the orifice can already be spread apart considerably at the entry area. This makes it possible to survey the entry area and intensifies the feeling of distension in the examinee.
